Bennett's 1st Christmas!!

Bennett's first Christmas was great!  He didn't really know what was going on but we really enjoyed getting up Christmas morning and letting him see all his new toys.  We bought him an Icrediblock for his peek a boo blocks we had bought him a few months ago, a cow pillow pet, a ball and a rain rattle.  We didn't go overboard with his gifts this year only because he doesn't really get it.  Next year will be different.  He got more toys from his grandparents and cousins so our living room is overflowing with new toys now.  :)

Christmas Eve we traveled up to Newberry to Jason's parents' house for dinner.  His aunt and uncle came with their 3 kids and families.  David and Alison have Jacob who is 4.  Dave and Michelle have Drew, who is 5, and Benjamin who is 8 months like Bennett.  Lauren and Philip don't have any kids.  So it's really nice to get together with all of them and eat good food and then exchange gifts for the little kids.  Here are some pics from Christmas Eve:

Yes, we know the elf is weird looking

Then on Christmas morning, we stayed home and let Bennett play with his new toys Santa brought him.  And yes, half of our Christmas tree lights went out on Christmas Eve!  Warning: Picture overload!! :)

After we opened gifts and played and let Bennett take a nap, we went over to my grandmother's house for dinner.  Lots of people over there and Bennett didn't know what to think.  It was a good time and great food!

So sweet!!!!

Not only was it Christmas, but Bennett turned 8 months on December 22!!!  And just the other day I really realized how big he is getting!  He's noticeably heavier when you pick him up.  We are looking into getting him a new car seat because he has out grown his baby one.  How sad is that?!  He is sitting up like a pro and wanting to pull up on things. I don't think it will be much longer before he is crawling and cruising!  He's still as handsome as ever!  He's very observant of the things around him and if there is a lot going on or a lot to look at, you won't be able to get his attention because he's too interested in his surroundings.  I took his chair pictures which were kinda tough because he wanted to scoot all around the chair.  But I managed to get a few.  :)
Hey Mom!

Mommy's sweety!!

And he starts the scooting....

Pitiful!

There he goes again!!

What's over there?!
Just 4 more months before Bennett turns 1!!  Wow, this year has truly flown by!!
