Time just needs to stand still

Today Bennett is 18 months old.  Last night we had 2 couples over for dinner.  I've known Kathy and Kristy for a very long time and we all have kids, all boys too.  At one point last night the 3 of them were standing at the storm door looking out and I looked at them with disbelief.  They are actually ours, and they are growing up so fast.  Seems like I was just a kid myself and now I have my own.  And now he's a big 18 months old!!  Growing up right before my eyes.  While I want time to slow down just a little, I also can't wait until he's old enough for soccer games, helping Mommy cook, or helping Daddy out in the garage.   I can't wait to make those memories with him.

He's still a busy body and still loves being outside.  It doesn't really matter what he does outside- he just wants to be there.  He loves walking around.  I'm dreading winter.  We won't be able to get out as much.  But at least our winters aren't extremely long.  Spring will be here soon (and that means Bennett will be turning 2!!!!!!)

Bennett's appetite is great and he loves a variety of foods still.  I think his favorite food now is hot dogs with ketchup.  He still likes all his usual favs.  His liquid intake is still limited to milk and watered down juice.  And he still drinks like he hasn't had a drink in days.  :)

He's getting more teeth too!  He's got all his front teeth and then 3 molars, with the 4th on the way out.  I love it when he smiles and shows his pretty teeth. :)

He is still doing very well in his big boy bed.  I'm really happy with the bed Jason picked out.  I think it's perfect.  Until he's big enough to be able to go up the ladder, he can sleep on the bottom bunk that's on the ground.  And then when he's in the top bunk, he can enjoy the canopy that's attached (pretty cool for a little boy).  And then the bottom mattress can be taken out for a play area.  I think I'm gonna make some curtains to hang so he can have a closed in area to play in.  How fun will that be for Bennett?!  I can see him using this bed for a really long time.

He's saying more words too.  He still has his own language, which I have not been able to translate yet, but he talks all the time.  Must get that from Jason.  His words consist of: Momma, No, Ball, Elmo, All Done, Moo (for his cows), Shoes, Hey, Daddy, Uh Oh, and Baby.

We enjoyed the fair this morning with our little 18 month old!  He liked the ducks sliding down the waterfall the best.  But we showed him around to the other animals too.  He saw all the cows, his Daddy's favorite, and I think he actually realized that cows say moo.  I could tell the wheels were turning every time we heard one moo.  And then we saw the goats and chickens and ducks.  It was a great time and next year he'll be able to actually ride some of the rides.  Can't wait!!

Tomorrow we'll try for his chair pictures and I'll share once we are done.  For now, here are some other ones for your enjoyment.

I asked Bennett to sit next to his Mr. Monkey.  He actually did for a split second and this is what I got.  :)
The other weekend we took Bennett back to the zoo.  The weather was perfect!  We met my friend Kathy and her 2 boys (Noah and Collin) there.  So much fun!  Love our zoo!  Here are some pictures from that visit.

Feeding the giraffes- he wasn't especially fold of being so close to them.  :)

Bennett wasn't too sure about the turkey leg
Halloween is right around the corner!  Bennett is going to be a lion this year.  :)  Not sure what we'll do- probably stay around the neighborhood and maybe visit a fall festival next weekend.  Can't believe it's Bennett's 2nd Halloween!!!

Our Outing This Weekend

Today Michelin hosted their 30th anniversary family fun day!  It was like a mini fair so Bennett had a great time walking around.  We even rode some rides with him!!  Jason rode with him in the strawberry ride and then I rode with him on the dinosaurs.  Talk about fun!!  I loved riding that ride with him.  Brought out the kid in me.  :)  It was really good to see all the wonderful people that Jason works with now.  And Bennett's buddy, Parker, was there because his dad works for Michelin too!
